I’m currently the Assistant Manager in Northport and have been with RBS for 5 years. I started in Riverhead at the Counter, then moved to East Hampton millwork. When I realized millwork wasn’t for me, I spoke to my manager and was offered the Assistant Manager role in Northport. RBS is a family business where I feel connected to everyone and never far away from the owners, creating a family-like atmosphere. Each day has its challenges, but there’s always people to talk to, and we figure it out together.

I’m currently the Manager of Hampton Bays. I started in Greenport Customer Service, then moved to hardware, followed by positions as Assistant Manager in Southampton and Riverhead. I’ve enjoyed the variety and opportunities to move around. Working for a family company like RBS is great because you truly feel like part of the family, and the owners are approachable.

My name is Trevor and I’m celebrating 35 years working in our Calverton Custom Millwork Shop as a Craftsman. I started when I was 18, woodworking was my passion. I enjoy figuring out how to make things and put things together. I started in the Millwork Shop and was trained on the job. The first thing I did was shovel snow! We make custom millwork, so we ask many questions to get it right the first time. Jobs come in for arched moulding, screen doors, and architectural replication for trim – I get to do what I love daily.

Currently, I’m the manufacturing foreman in Calverton. I’ve been with RBS for 30 years, starting at our Pulaski Street location. My goal is to keep things running smoothly and remove roadblocks for the team. I enjoy the camaraderie, togetherness, and helping others every day. I would recommend working for a family company like RBS to everyone, as we are treated very well.

I’m celebrating 20 years and I am currently a Mill Operator in Calverton. I was working at another yard when a co-worker who had left to go work for RBS said he recommended me to them. I started in East Hampton on the night crew and worked my way up. I immediately noticed the opportunity they gave you for growth, they teach you, and provide all the tools you need to get ahead. Riverhead has given me the chance to put my kids through college. They are a great family and a great company to work for.

Celebrating 35 years, currently at Riverhead Store as Foreman. The best part of my day is coming in. I started as a Yardman in the original yard on Ostrander Avenue in Riverhead. Then I drove for 9 years, and got promoted to foreman. There were 3 yards when I started, now we have 20, I have seen a lot of changes. Every day is different, it keeps your mind going.

My name is Carly, I started in the Hampton Bays location, worked my way to Inventory Control, Office Manager, and now on my 10th year as a Purchasing Agent of Windows & Doors. The best part of my day is helping customers with product knowledge, communicating lead time expectations, and facilitating the sale. I enjoy working in a department that is very supportive of one another. My father worked for the company for 43 years, so a lot of people here have seen me grow up. Sometimes I forget how large this company is because it still has that small, intimate family feel. I could not imagine working anywhere else!

My name is Sergio Fajardo, I have been at RBS for five years. I started out in Southampton as Customer Service, moved to Riverhead as Counter Sales for a few years, and I’m currently the night manager of the East Hampton yard. Riverhead Building Supply has a great sense of community, everyone is very friendly, helpful. My favorite part of my job is putting a house on a truck and sending it out to the customer. The challenging part is figuring out how to load the truck, the logistics and how to fit the most on one load. Riverhead in one word = welcoming.

My name is Todd, I started in our Middletown, RI, location in Customer Service for about 2 years. I was promoted to Inside Sales in Middletown for 4 years before being offered the Assistant Manager role in North Kingstown, RI. I enjoy working with customers to help them get the best products to complete their projects. Working for a family owned company, your hard work is noticed and appreciated. Riverhead has allowed me to grow within the company, learning along the way.

My name is Betty Machin. I have worked for Riverhead Building Supply for five and a half years. Currently, I am the office manager at the Port Jefferson location and I enjoy working with a diverse group of individuals. Every day I feel blessed to have a great group of colleagues to work with and customers who’ve been coming to us for years.

I’m Brian Powell, I’m a truck driver at the Huntington store. I’ve worked at RBS for 5 years. Compared to previous jobs, RBS is 100% better. I worked at companies that didn’t show respect or appreciation and RBS does both – I am very happy. The best part of my work day is making deliveries and seeing customer’s different projects. My most memorable delivery was a job down near the beach where I had to drive the spider down a hill with 40’ TJI’s and try not to fall over. It felt really good to make it down there!

I’ve been at RBS for 5 years as an Outside Sales rep working with contractors. I was in the auto industry for 21 years. Prior to that I was a framer and carpenter. That’s how I made the transition to RBS, I was able to read plans, I know the business. My best day is when everything goes as planned and everyone is happy. That’s what I strive for every day. It’s a pleasure to work at RBS. Everyone is easy to work with and willing to work as a team to get things done.

My name is of Craig, I have been with the company for ten years. I started as Customer Service, was promoted to Assistant Manager, then to Manager of the Montauk store. Working in a smaller yard, my job covers the counter, doing hardware, to manifesting the trucks for delivery, you get involved in everything – it’s non-stop and keeps me on the go. The best part of my job is making sure my customers are satisfied and happy and that I have motivated my employees. I try to pass along what I can to employees so they see the same success I’ve seen in the past ten years.
